You have stumbled upon my, Dustin Hughes, photography blog.
So, let’s kick things off with how it all happened…
On may 21st, 2010 I graduated from high school. College was a quickly approaching goal and so was the multitude of careers that I needed to choose from. Throughout school, I never worried about what my future goals were going to be. I thought that they would show themselves to me whenever it was time.
And boy, was I wrong.
In an effort to figure out a plan for my future, I took the money that I had collected for graduation and bought a Nikon D5000, in hopes that becoming a photographer would be something I was interested in pursuing.
I’ve been hopeless ever since.
Everything that moved became a target for me.
My dog barking.
My friends horsing around.
It didn’t even have to move. For instance, an icicle.
Okay… I’ll stop now. But it became very evident that photography became more of an addiction than it did a hobby. Several other things became evident as well. Such as me having no clue how to work a DSLR, what arpeture was, or ISO, and how to use them. It became very discouraging whenever I would come across other DLSR noobies’ blogs and realized that they knew something that I didn’t.
That’s where this blog comes in. I want to record my photos and progress as I grow into this wonderful art. It would also be a great pleasure to help all other new photographers defeat the obstacles and confusion of owning a DSLR. I’m a very entry level beginner, but I hope to one day become very great at what I do.
So, with that being said,
Sit back, buckle up, keep all arms inside the vehicle, and always remember, HAVE A SPARE MEMORY CARD!
